Elan S1 (Type 26)

Convertible only, originally called Elan 1500 and soon Elan 1600, subsequently referred to as the S1.

Elan S2 (Type 26)

Elan 26R S1 and S2

engine: Cosworth Mk 15 Twin Cam, 140- 160 bhp

The factory-built 26R incorporated chassis and suspension modifications, but also included a 1/3 thinner, lightweight body and the replacement of several cast iron parts with magnesium ones in an effort to reduce overall weight.
